WE ALL IN THE SAME GANG SO WHY ARE WE HEADED FOR SELF DESTRUCTION

Its 1989 Hip Hop has made a name for itself in the music industry. Many artist used this art form to express it view of the world on wax.
During this time crack has hit the scene and took control of the the ghetto streets. Many became successful and many failed victim to the crack era(jail or dead)
During a KRS-ONE and Public Enemy show, a young man was killed. This spark KRS-ONE to form a team called Stop the Violence Movement that include many of the hottest artist from the east coast. BDP, Stetsasonic, Kool Moe Dee, Mc Lyte, Doug E Fresh, Just-Ice, Heavy D and Public Enemy to record a song called Self-Descrution, it was a wake up call to the hip hop world. We need to stop all this killing among our people.
In 1990, the west coast was having the similar problems with the crack era but it was more in the gang banging terms. Many young men were killed over colors. The murder rate was at a all time high. The west coast felt like they needed to speak upon the violence on their coast. Dr Dre produced the track called we all in the same gang that included the hottest artist from the west coast.King Tee, Body and Soul, Def Jef, Michel'le, Ton Loc, Above the Law, Ice T, Dr Dre, Mc Ren, Eazy E, JJ Fad, Young MC, Digital Underground, Oaktown 357 and Mc Hammer. This song was to speak to our youth that we are all in the same gang, lets get together and be one and fight for a better cause.
I would like thank all the artist who was on each of these songs. This showed the hip hop community that they cared about whats going on in the hood.
These two songs had a different vibe but the same message. The east coast version was political and more about being a stronger black community. The west coast version was gangsta. The video showed how everyday life was during the gang banging era. I think dude at end of the video was more gangsta for not shooting up the park
Gang banging and drugs are not going anywhere anytime soon. Many of these young people born during the early 90's and late 80's may have been born with crack in their system which results to learning and behavior disorders..  Many Fathers are dead or lock up behind drugs and gang banging leaving single mother to raise a boy into a man "IMPOSSIBLE"
It's time for the younger generation to slow it down. There is more to life than the block.Free your mind and explore what this world has to offer. Its cool to go to school and get good grades.......Some of the wealthiest of today were nerds... THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!
