  This movie is about the struggle  that Def Jam had trying to be successful with this new genre of music. While many thought that HipHop was fad.... WOW!!! thats was over twenty years ago.

   In 1984, Russell Simmons teams up with Rick Rubin forming  the label Def Jam outta a dorm room at New York University.Signing  Run DMC and Kurtis Blow as their first acts. When Run DMC had a hit and Russell did not have the money to press the record, He borrow the money from a street hustler( who wanted his money back ASAP).There tension between brothers Russel and Ron is heated since they both  shared the same love interest in R&B singer  Shelia E.( watch and see who gets her!!!).

  This film cast was all artist LL cool J, the Beastie Boys, New Edition, Chaka Khan ,Debbie Harry, Gap Band and Full Force. Krush Groove was the  number one movie at the box office grossing 3 million on the    first weekend. One million dollars came from  New York  alone.
     I think all artist should watch this movie especially if you rap or make beats. Just looking at these picture shows how far hip hop has come.  I think that's way todays artist all sound alike or the subject matter is the same because they don't know who paved the way.  Artist today are playing it too safe scared that creatively wont be accepted. YOU GOTTA REMBER THAT THIS STARTED WITH 2 TURNTABLES AND MIC NOW HOW CREATIVE IS THAT!!!!
